Game of the Week
Jesuit |
|
I expect the first two weeks of this year's ranking to be as inaccurate as the first two weeks of last year's ranking. As always, the ranking is based on earned calculations. It does not reflect the opinion of anyone. Results - In week 2, Wynn's Ranking hit 14 of 15 predictions. Five out of fifteen predictions were within 7 points. In week two, we discover that Jesuit and Tigard deserve more credit than they've been getting. Most of the changes in this week’s ranking can be attributed to TRL and Pac9’s strong games. Tigard climbed from 12th to 4th while Clackamas climbed from 9th to 6th. Last year’s ranking still injects an influence because there are only two weeks of data available for projections. Congratulations to Tigard, Tualatin, Pendleton, and McMinnville who all made big jumps this week on Wynn's Ranking. I Was There - Oregon City at CanbyCanby received the first kick and began a drive that revealed what kind of night it would be for Oregon City. Running 13 plays and passing once, Canby scored after driving 78 yards in six and a half minutes of a twelve minute quarter. Between ball control and clock control, Canby beat Oregon City 27 to 7. Canby made eight drives for 393 yards. Oregon City made nine drives for 192 yards. Canby made their longest drive in the second quarter after Oregon City fumbled near the goal line. Canby drove it back 97 yards, executing 18 plays in six and half minutes. Oregon City's longest drive came at the end of the third quarter where, like last week, they demonstrated excellent use of the clock. After stopping Canby with 2:11 to go in the quarter, Oregon City took over on their own 15 yard line. Bryan Borgmeier broke free on the fifth play to run 57 yards for the score, bringing Oregon City within 13 points. It was another week of mistakes and frustrations for Oregon City, completing just 9 of 27 passes. |
